Standard Operating Procedures

The Ecologic Initiative is a Medium RP Free Company and CWLS based on the principle that environmentalism is just as worthy a duty as picking up a sword and sticking the pointy end in whoever your commanding officer tells you to.The Cosmic Exploration Initiative has developed technologies meant to aid in the development of suitable habitable conditions on exoplanets... technology someone eventually realized could be quite handy back home on Hydaelyn, where several locales are still rendered untenable by various factors.This new initiative, the Etheirys Ecologic Initiative, is meant to survey sites to determine any ecological harm, and utilize its resources to restore habitats when possible, or facilitate new ones when restoration is out of the question. The Initiative must also contend with out-of-control wildlife, aether-corrupted anomalies, disgruntled politicians, and mysterious saboteurs.

Rules of Engagement

  1. No generative AI content is permitted. It will never be permitted, and anyone found using AI for their writing or images will be removed from the Free Company.

  2. Please be mature and act with kindness OOC toward your fellow roleplayers. All drama is to be kept in-character. No out-of-character hate, insensitivity, or bullying will be tolerated. You will be expected to handle disagreements like adults, but if you have concerns that cannot be addressed personally, please bring them to an officer before things get out of hand.

  3. You are not your character. While we accept that some level of writing is always exploratory, what happens to your character does not reflect what someone thinks of you personally, and vice versa. IC and OOC bleed is frowned upon, and as such self-inserts are not allowed.

  4. Do not harass fellow members should they be engaging in roleplay you do not personally like. Their business is their own, just like yours is your own. These are fictional dolls, not real people, and this is the Internet, not real life. If you don't like the way a scene is going, excuse yourself, and step away.

  5. Characters are expected to be well-researched and written with consideration for the experiences people actually live through, with understanding that one person's experience is not universal. While the world of Final Fantasy XIV is a wonderful place with magic and technology beyond our wildest imaginations, disabilities disable people, and you must think about your accommodations. Please speak with an officer if you want help acclimating your character.

This is a guild run by adults, with the expectation that you have a firm grip on the difference between fiction and reality. Actions taken by player characters or NPCs do not reflect the morals of their writers. Sigmund Freud is dead. You're free, man.We will not post trigger warnings with every event (barring the event runner's discretion), nor do we have a ranking system to indicate the level of disturbing content that might be at an event. We will provide blanket trigger warnings on this page, and by participating you accept that you are fine with being potentially exposed to this content. If you have concerns, please bring them to the officers, as consent and safety is important to us.While this guild is based on the concept of hopepunk and turning back the Doomsday Clock, discomfort is part of life. You cannot protect the future without knowing what it is you are safeguarding it against. You cannot be sheltered forever. Doomsday is coming. We're here to make sure it doesn't last.

Content Warnings

  1. Violence, Hyperviolence, and Gore - This is an ecological initiative, but combat will still occasionally happen. We have medical personnel and horror writers among our number. Things may get graphic.

  2. Animal Endangerment - I'd hate to spoil Ol' Yeller for you, but sometimes you can't save the dog.

  3. Realpolitik - In a parallel to the real world, some people won't like that we want to save the star from less-glorious disaster. Fighting primals is noble. Cleaning up lakes is peasantry.

  4. In-Universe Bigotry - The Final Days are over, but some people still really hate Duskwights.

  5. Canon-Compliant Level of Sexual Innuendo - This seems to scare people for some reason.

Application

Hey there! Thanks for your interest in the Etheirys Ecologic Initiative! We have a two-step application system: an OOC questionnaire in the Discord that helps us determine where you're at as a player, and then we set up an IC interview to help us get to know your character.
